I started to bring this same anger and violence into my life by beating other people. I carried this emotional baggage and took refuge in tobacco, drugs, and the world of online games because I thought they could fill the void.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">&#8220;Because I\u00a0couldn&#8217;t\u00a0sleep, I would spend many nights playing non-stop. In the online world, I felt good; It filled me temporarily. But it got to a point where I got tired of it all because my life was only going backward. I ended up in the hospital many times due to anxiety attacks and because of other diseases that\u00a0didn&#8217;t\u00a0even exist, were undiagnosable, and were generated by what I kept inside. At the hospital, I\u00a0was advised\u00a0to take medication for anxiety, sleep, and depression. I took them, but they\u00a0didn&#8217;t\u00a0have any effect.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">&#8220;I\u00a0had no social life, neither with family nor with friends. I had my meals\u00a0in front of\u00a0a screen because I\u00a0didn&#8217;t\u00a0want to be with anyone. I met a girl during this time, but it all went down the drain because when I was with her, I\u00a0couldn&#8217;t\u00a0hold a conversation and just wanted to return to that online\u00a0world&#8217;s\u00a0emptiness. So, it became a very problematic relationship, and she broke up with me. But I\u00a0didn&#8217;t\u00a0know how to accept that; I became desperate and tried to kill myself. I came up with a plan to go to the train track and kill myself.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">&#8220;In this situation, my mother invited me to the Universal Church; I was so desperate that I accepted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">When I came to the Church, I didn&#8217;t understand many things. Still, with the guidance of the Pastor, the assistants, and my current wife, I began to accept and understand that this was the path I had to follow. As I got to know God&#8217;s Word, I saw several changes: the hurt, the desire to cry, and the emptiness disappeared, and I began to have peace; I could sleep again. I gave up gaming, tobacco, and drugs, focusing only on the Word of God.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-340843 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/universalchurchusa.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2024\/05\/Screenshot-2024-05-09-at-2.37.18-PM.png\" alt=\"Filling the Void With Addictions\" width=\"204\" height=\"139\" \/><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #003366;\">&#8220;Later, I started dating my current wife, we got married, I started working, and our lives stabilized. I began to seek the Holy Spirit and gave myself 100% to God. After I was baptized with His Spirit, I began to feel an immense peace, and everything began to fall into place in my life. I started to have a social life, to talk to my family, and to have friends.
