After our separation, I fell into depression and started drinking excessively. The pain of his infidelity was unbearable, mainly because it involved people I knew. In an attempt to cope, I turned to drinking.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">My children suffered the most. Instead of caring for and providing for their needs, I prioritized my addiction. Eventually I became unemployed and was trapped in a cycle of despair. Constantly I felt as though death would be a better option, because I longed for something that could alleviate my pain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">My sister suggested that I attend services at <strong><a style=\"color: #003366;\" href=\"https:\/\/universalchurchusa.org\/en\/locations\/\">The Universal Church<\/a>.<\/strong> The pastor preached the importance of caring for and representing oneself well in the church. His words resonated with me, and I started caring for myself again. I participated in the chains of prayers for my deliverance from addiction and depression. Gradually, I managed to break free from the grip of alcohol. However, my children still lived with their grandmother due to my inability to provide for them financially.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Determined to turn my life around, I sought employment and eventually found a job. I devoted myself to prayer, waking up at night to pray and seek the presence of God, and I managed to overcome my depression, Following the guidance I received in the church. I also got baptized in water, symbolizing a new start in God&#8217;s presence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">God has blessed me abundantly. No longer am I addicted, depressed, or suicidal. After leaving my job I decided to open a daycare center. Today I found happiness, sobriety, and the ability to care for my children. One is now married, and I even look after their children.
