Just Like Our Spiritual Life, Marriage Should Be Treated With Special Care
What does marriage have to do with the salvation of your soul? Your love life, especially for a married couple, has everything to do with saving your soul.
The Lord Jesus is identified in the Bible as the Bridegroom and the Church as the Bride. This shows that the relationship of the Most High with His people requires the same commitment as a marriage.
“To keep your marriage, one must sacrifice for the other. I renounce my personal will to do her will and vice versa. Likewise, a Christian has to sacrifice his will every day to obey the Lord Jesus Christ. And He, on the other hand, sacrifices by putting up with our failures, mistakes and sins”, explains Bishop Edir Macedo.
And there are no shortcuts: running away from it means losing your own soul.
“Then He said to them all, “If anyone will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”
Salvation is a covenant, a marriage with God and it is reflected in the union with another human being.
Just like our spiritual life, marriage should be treated with special care. After all, we protect and take care of everything that is important.
“A person doesn’t necessarily have to be married to be saved, of course. But marriage strengthens our Salvation and, if you fail in marriage, you will inevitably fail in your spiritual life. Both depend on fidelity, honoring one’s word, commitment, values that cannot be ignored”, says Bishop Macedo.
In the Love Therapy, married and single people learn to have a blessed love life and how marriage has everything to do with the salvation of their soul. It takes place every Thursday at 7pm at any Universal Church near you.
