The Fast of Daniel

The Fast of Daniel Will Begin Monday, March 11, 2024, and Run through Sunday, March 31, 2024.

Often, people use all of their strength to spend time in activities that take them away from God. That is why we challenge everyone to participate in The Fast of Daniel. For 21 days, we will place distractions aside and focus on what matters most: The Holy Spirit.

Nowadays, many things are a source of distraction in our day-to-day life. News, videos, games, and social media have stolen many people’s time. There has never been as much information available as there is today. The problem is that this information competes for people’s attention and takes up valuable space in their minds.

In addition to taking up time that should be spent with family or personal projects, these distractions also take people’s focus away from what is most important: intimacy with God and the search for the Holy Spirit.

Many Christians spend long hours watching videos on the internet or television programs. However, they realize they have not invested in their relationship with God, which could be achieved through prayers and meditation on His Word. In this way, they also move away from Salvation.

It is undeniable that technology offers valuable tools for human life. Still, evil also uses it to take people’s focus away from eternal life. Thus, many start to worry only about the now. That is why Christians need to know how they lead their lives and priorities, as young Daniel did.

Bible:

Even in a foreign land, where the people were pagans, Daniel did not let anything contaminate his faith or relationship with the Lord. As the Bible shows, he excluded himself from the practices and habits of the culture of the world around him. Daniel cared for his food and health and prayed three times daily (morning, afternoon, and night), even when a law determined that no one could pray except to that nation’s God.

Based on chapter 10 of the book of Daniel, which reports the moment when the young man decided to fast for 21 days to seek favor, wisdom, and understanding from God, The Universal Church promotes the Fast of Daniel, which will occur for the very first time in 2024! It will begin Monday, March 11, 2024, through Sunday, March 31, 2024. During the 21-day fast, the proposal is that participants abstain from secular information and distractions.

This purpose aims for each person to redeem the time that would otherwise be lost with distractions to dedicate it to what is valuable. It is a time to reflect on how they have led their lives and seek new exciting activities that bring learning about God and strengthen their relationship through fasting and prayer.

Take advantage of this opportunity by participating in the Fast of Daniel. Encourage family and friends to live the same spirit. Take the opportunity to be closer to God, receive a life transformation, and become a better person.
