In the late 1500s, the French king decided to adopt the Gregorian calendar In this way, the New Year, which until then was celebrated on March 25, changed to January 1. At the time, the tradition was to celebrate for a week.
Some people, however, disagreed with the King’s decision and continued to celebrate the New Year between March 25 and April 1. Most of society began to make fun of these people, preaching pieces and calling them silly. Thus, April 1st was the day of the new year liar, the day of the fools.
The tradition was gaining strength and, with the influence that France exerted on England in the 18th century, migrated there. From there, the two countries took the April fools’ day.
So April fool’s day is innocent?
What was born as a political manifestation became a celebration of lies. Curiously, the origin of this date is Catholic, but it commemorates one of the greatest creations of the devil, as the Bible itself states:
“You are the father of the devil, and you want to satisfy the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning and was not established in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and a father of lies. “John 8:44
If the devil is the father of lies and God is the Truth, how can it be good to celebrate the Day of the Lie? In His Words, God makes no distinction between “lying to the grave” and “lying in jest.” Just repudiates the liar and guides:
“Thou shalt not steal, nor lie, nor use every man his falsehood with his neighbor.” Leviticus 19.11
Recently, the writer Cristiane Cardoso explained that “when you lie you become the lie. We are the word we speak. What I say becomes me, represents me. So if you lie you become the lie to that person and to all the people who suffer from your lie. ”
If, when he lies, the person becomes the lie itself, he is effectively becoming the daughter of the devil, who is the father of the lie.
Imagine what your life would be like being the son of the devil and answer: is it worth celebrating a date that turns you into this?
